Help with sizing image for web

I'd like to post a picture but when I upload, it says the image is too large. I have Photoshop CS4 and I'm not sure what I have to do to make the image the right size for the web.
    thanks

The menu you want is on a tab and it is "image size" and remember to use "SAVE AS" to rename the file after resizing the image.

I use cs3, and dont know if anything has changed but in case it hasnt: I use file-Save for web and use the dialog to resize there. It gets rid of extraneous data to make the final file smaller in size, not just the image. It gives you so many options youll want to google the option to get info on it. Once you understand it, it will really be a powerful tool.

But if you're posting here in critique, or asking for help, then that "extraneous" data includes the EXIF information that will help us by showing shutter speed, iso etc.
