I am currently looking at buying a nikon d40 and want to sell all my old 35 equipment. Problem is, i dont know what to ask for all of this.. i have

    -Canon AE-1 Program body
    -Canon Power Winder a2
    -Sears 80-200mm fd lense
    -Sears 60-300mm fd lense
    -Kiron 28-70mm 1:4 macro lense
    -Canon fixed 135mm lense

    -Minolta XG-A body
    -28 mm 1:2.8 macro lense

You might post this in the threads that deal with shooting film. Over the past 30 years, I've tried to buy equipment that would serve my needs for years, so I've only upgraded three times during that period. Each time what I bought was so superior and my previous equipment so outdated, I just gave it away. But there might be a few bucks in it.

If you have an ebay account, there's a seller tool that looks up 'what its worth'
Gives the range of what those items have sold for in the past on ebay.

My usual advice is to check completed auctions on ebay, but also keh.com which deals in used equipment. They can get more than an individual seller for a piece of equipment because they offer a guarantee, have been in business for a long time, etc - but it will give you an idea.

Put it on ebay with a low starting price and take what you get. As long as you put in enough for shipping USPS Priority plus insurance (they even provide the boxes), you may make a few bucks.

From what I've seen of film equipment on ebay, it either has to be really good stuff, be of some collector value or have a current use with digital. The older prime macro lenses have a little more value since you normally use manual focus anyway with a macro set up.
