Can you help my processing dilemma?

I'm travelling for 10 months, and will take a good amount of pro print film with me, and also purchase some as I go. The problem is, going through so many airports, and the heat, I need to either process and send home as I go, or just send home the unprocessed film canisters.

So, which is the lesser evil: Trusting a strange lab to process my film overseas, or send the canisters back through the mail, where they may be xrayed by the postal service?

    Any experiences?

Back in the ye olde days when I used film, I would send about 10 rolls at a time to my US lab via FedEx. FedEx is everywhere and the service is consistent. No fooling around with a myriad of foreign post offices.
