Unhappy Help! I'm freaking out! A Rebel XT ?

This evening when I took some pictures I tried pushing the ISO button and nothing came on the LCD screen. I searched my book for a solution, and didn't really find one that explained such a situation, but figured maybe I've hit a button or something, so I went through the menu to get to the point to restore default settings and that is no longer an option on my menu! It's gone! What's happening? :cryin: By the way, it's still taking pictures okay.

Trish,,,sounds like the Gremlins have snuck into your camera..When things go a tad crazy with my 20D or 350D (rarely happens) I turn them off and remove the batteries for a few minutes..This usually resets or reboots the camera..

    Give it a try..

yeah, pulling the batteries then putting that back in helps a lot of the time. the other day my 1d locked up, top display was frozen, bottom was nonexistent, still shot but recorded nothing, so i switched it to off and it stayed like that. Pulled the battery, put it back in, and everything was fixed

I've had everything from a dead camera to a flash that was zooming in and out fixed just by removing the batteries for a few minutes. Funny how that works! If this doesn't fix it, you might need to call their service department.

I even had that problem with my NIKON believe it or not.
It also worked fine when I put the battery back in.
Problem was the battery was at home still sitting in the charger.

I would suggest either the idea with taking the battery out, or running an upgrade on your firmware... even if you have the most updated version (for some reason this helps occasionally). And another thing to do (even though this might seem very obvious and you'll probably think this is stupid of me to say) is making sure that you are shooting in a program mode, not an auto mode (like portrait or landscape).
