    HELP! I'm brand new

I was curious about the 'protect' mode on my cannon digital camera, so i chose it. Now It seems all my pictures are missing. when i go to the 'view' screen, it says "no images". I've tried to go back to the menu where i first put 'protect' mode on, but now that screen is dull grey and i cannot access it any more. please tell me i didnt erase all my pictures?!?

Turn the camera off. That should drop it out of the mode you put the camera in, unless the mode you are in is a security protection mode then you will have to read the manual.

Or, you can try resetting the camera. But without specific model information, it's kinda to hard to offer anything but general troubleshooting advice.
