Help! Computer won't detect camera!

Hello, I just got a new Panasonic DMC-LC50 dig. camera, but I'm having some problems. First of all, the first time I plugged it into the computer, a message popped up saying some windows file was missing, and that the originial operating system CD was needed (I'm running windows ME), but the CD was not supplied by the manufacturer on purchase. I checked for all updates on the Microsoft site, installed them to no avail. The software included Ulead photo explorer 8, but I can't get it to detect the camera, it just won't. I don't know if that has to do with the message windows displayed, most likely, but is there a fix to this? I've tried re-installing all the programs and it still won't.

Nevermind, I found the required files on the internet, it works now.
