Fuji S1000fd - Poor Quality Pictures

I have had this camera for approximately 2-3 months and have taken a hundred or so pictures, but am not satisfied with the quality of the pictures. On 12/24 prior to grandchildred coming over, I re-read the manual, set up a SP-1 setting(for interior, party atmosphere). I changed the pixel count to one of the highest settings, to assure better pictures. I took 10 or 15 pictures some with flash, some without and the quality just wasn't good. Some had a yellow tint, some were out of focus, some had poor color.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

I contacted Fuji and I can send the camera back and they will inspect it and perhaps replace it with a factory reconditioned model.

Can you post a sample image from the camera. As without a sample image there can't be advise given.

Yes, we'd really need to see a sample shot to know what's going on.
