flash problem?

I don't know much about cameras, but I have a fairly new camera (it's a casio ex-s500) and every time I take a picture inside it turns out differently. it's really dark, just right, or super bright. and the lighting in the room doesn't seem to make a difference. so I'm not sure if this a flash problem or what..it doesn't seem to matter when I change flash intensity and all those other settings...so IS it a flash problem? and is there something I can do about it or do I just have a crummy camera?

You didn't change any settings and got those three different photos? If so, something's definitely wrong. I would return the camera. It's not a bad model, but it looks like you might have got a bad camera.

One thing first - check the manual and find out where the flash sensor is on the camera. When you're shooting, make sure that your fingers don't block that sensor - or you'll have results just like this. One of the cameras I have has a sensor that's mounted in a place that's very easy to block, and this was a pretty wide-spread problem when it first came out.

I'm not sure if that camera can be set to bracket your shots, but that's kind of what this looks like to me. It might be a long shot but I would check your manual to see if you can set it to auto bracket your exposures, then check your camera settings to make sure it didn't get set to bracket your shots.
