    Equipment or Software?

I am involved with a company that has regular staff photographic sessions following meetings, seminars and training etc.
Although I am just an organiser of these sessions I normally end up being a reluctant unofficial photographer!
I understand from a friend that there may well be some equipment and software out there that does all this for me.
To give you some understanding of what would help me I’ll briefly explain what I do now. Between 1 and four people come into the room, I take 4 shots with a very ordinary pocket digital camera, they leave and I send each one of them a copy of the 4 photographs on a A4.
    I would really like……
…….for them to walk into the same room, a camera somehow connected to a LCD TV shows them a view of themselves to ‘pose’ prior to the shots and when they are ready they press a button and 4 photographs are taken of each group with a 5 second delay between each shot. The photographs are them immediately sent to a printer and they each collect a copy of all 4 shots on one page and leave.
I understand there maybe a Cannon DSLR that does the job. I am happy to pay for new equipment as what I am doing presently seems a bit feeble with the technology that is out there.
    Is it possible?
Is it camera or software related or both?
    Many Thanks

    Re: Equipment or Software?

A three mega pixel camera pluged in to a Video moniter is all that needed plus a remote for the camera. Let them pose and press the remote to take the photo. Then use a program to print the four photos on the A4 paper. It can be automated using Perl srcipt, most likely on a Free BSD or a Linux distribution

    Re: Equipment or Software?

Like Freygr said, the display and trigger of the shutter are already possible using any camera with video out and a remote release. As for printing automatically, on a Mac I would simply use Automator to visually create a script and the tie it to a folder as a folder action. That Automator script would take any new file and resize it and send it to the printer. Set the camera's software to write to that folder and you should be golden.

How to tell the most experienced shooter in a group? They have the least amount of toys on them.

    Curious

I'm trying to imagine your job...so far I've come up with anything relating to mugshots, something covert and top secret, or something in the tourist industry.

    What you need is this!
