    Elementary Problem

I have an elementary problem I cannot solve! Without taking any advice, I bought a kit called Kodak EasyShare. It supplies a CD which must be operational to download phographs. All well and good.
But, I have always used Photostudio and I cannot get it to recognise the Kodak camera. Presumable the Kodak software has shut the door on such a transaction. I don't like the Kodak software as it seems to edit my photographs. I may take ten but it only dowloads six as it says the others are too similar. This is not always the case. So I want to go back and use Photostudio.

    How do I do this?

    Thank you for looking

I'd uninstall everything kodak from your computer, return the thing, and restart from scratch. You may need to also reinstall photostudio. Hopefully kodak didn't leave anything in your registry to mess things up.
Can you remove the card from the camera? Perhaps that may be an easy work around if you're trying to download straight from the camera.

    Re: Elementary Problem

I never use the camera software, or the camera itself.
I always take the memory card out and use a card reader.
That way it's as simple as copying form one drive to another.
Then I can use whatever software I like to manage the images afterwards.

    Re: Elementary Problem

Thank you very much thecounsel and SmartWombat.

By combining the two answers, I solved the problem. I deleted asmuch of the Kodak Files as I could. The drivers will not delete.

I then took out the card and not having a card reader sat down and thought about it.

The answer came to me as I was thinking - Use an old camera as a card reader.

    It worked perfectly.

    Thank you both once again.

Glad to hear you came up with a solution. I'm not a big fan of the Kodak software, either. It's pretty intrusive and usually a bit on the buggy side. I like the idea of the Share button on the camera, dock, frames, etc. But I don't like all the other crap that goes along with it. HP software is similar. Both companies make great devices but sort of spoil it with obnoxious software.
