    Dimage 7Hi - Broken?

Hello, I come here to figure out what is going on with my camera. This last weekend I went camping and took my camera out and starting shooting. I went to review my photos and they all were washed out and grayscale or something. Plus they have scanlines all across. I thought maybe I had manual exposure on or some settings by accident, but that wasn't the problem at all. I restored the camera's default settings, and still I get terrible photos now.

I am really dissapointed, because I am pretty sure it is broken. I am not sure how or why, but I would like to know from some experienced photographers here if you have ever seen this problem, and what causes it?

Even if I take snapshots with the lense cap still on, it is just a white washed out image. (last pic attached)

Something wrong with the CCD? Please help

The Minolta 7hi was one of several cameras using a Sony CCD chip that was prone to developing the problems yours is showing. You'll probably need to contact Sony (they've taken over Minolta's camera business) about getting it repaired.

Alright, I figured that would be the problem.

To be honest, I regret buying this camera, it was good while it lasted I guess.

Time to save up for a Canon ;)

I believe Sony will fix the problem free of charge. If so, it would be a good idea to have it done even if you aren't going to keep the camera. You'll at least be able to sell it for something.

Yeah, I will still get it repaired, but I've been wanting to have a new camera anyways .

    Thx for the help.
