Question Digital Photo Saved Direct to Compter

Is it possible to tether a digital camera to write directly to a computer so that after you snap a picture the image is written to the hard drive rather than memory card? I've been searching for information with no luck. Any direction provided would be extremely helpful.

    Thanks,
    Mike

You betcha. I shoot Canon, and I use an application called 10D Remote. It lets me set anything the camera will let me set, all using my PC.

It's great for model shoots - the models can see the results immediately on a monitor, and the feedback it provides really helps with posing. It's very useful if you do holiday sitting photos (like Santa shoots, etc.) because once you frame the seating area, you just sit at the PC and go.

The shots go straight to the harddrive, so it's like you have the world's largest CF card. Sweet.

Nikon has this application available too, but I haven't used it and I don't know what it's called.

That all said, what camera are you using? Only certain cameras are supported.

Thanks Miki. We are actually going to be getting the Canon EOS 1D Mark II N so I don't think I'll have any problems hooking up. The software comes with the camera, correct?
