I think that also depends on

1) your computer. Slower computers cant handle high speeds

2) your USB. USB1 and USB2 differ greatly in speed

3) what you use to transfer. If you use your camera, then it will be slow either way. If you use a card reader, it may make a difference but that would depend on 1 and 2

4) your patience. transferring works itself, so unless you are in a rush, you dont really need it.
