    dead pixel on image sensor???? (warning xxl pics)

    i have a problem with my canon sd450... i think there is a dead pixel on my image sensor(if thats even possible)... first i thought it was a dead pixel on the cameras lcd, but it the spot was still there when i transfered it... anyways here is a few samples of the problem if anyone has thoughts on what it could be let me know thanx

    If it was a dead pixel, I'd expect it to show up in all pictures, no matter what the sudject.
    Does it?
    In exactly the same place?
    How about if you take a photo with the lens covered?

    it shows up on all pics and in the same spot

    Does your camera have a nosie referrence frame option? Other than that it's time for a new senser unless the camera's firmware can map the bad senser out.

    honestly man, this is not a big deal at all, i wouldnt worry about it... or, talk to canon, or, hell, i dunno if you got an extended warranty. We SLR shooters deal with a similar issue all the time - dust on the sensor, and yeah its annoying but its really not a big deal...

    If you know where it is and it's just one small dot, fix it with the Healing Brush in Photoshop. If your camera offers Pixel Mapping, run it. But it doesn't seem like it's worth a trip to the camera shop.
