Darkroom questions

I finally did it, I found an enlarger. I picked up a beseler 45mxt w/a zone VI cold light head for $275. The only problem is that they dropped the head and broke the bulb. I ordered a new bulb from Calumet and I was wondering if anyone has experience changing a cold light bulb (not a hot one) . Just want to know if it's hard or if there are any tips. Also, I'm going back to college (I'm a college student again) for photography but because I work and don't have alot of time to catch up on any work w/the school darkroom when in a crunch I was wondering if developing chemicals harm bathtubs. It's a metal bathtup with I think an epoxy paint, the bathtub is like 20years old. Any help is always appreciated

Sorry, can't help you with the question - but blown away that you got all THAT for $275! A couple of years ago - even when the digital switch was starting - it would have been 3 or 4 times that much.

How much chemestry are you mixing? I mix my D76 in a small plastic garbage can bought especially for that.

Well, I don't know what the mix is going to be. I know from the last class I took about 1.5 years ago the used tmax developer for the tri-x we were using. They were diluting it alot though. I looked at the shipping weight and it's 76lbs. I'm going to have to build a cart to put it on so I can roll it into the bathroom and out over a carpeted floor. I wish my basement was finished!!

Are you opening up a lab? I've used T-Max developer before. A place here in town has small bottles of concentrate that make one gallon. It's a 1:4 dilution so it must be a 16oz bottle - maybe weighs a pound. How much do you need!?

My only concern, is that it might stain the tub, especially if you have any cracks or chips.
