    CottonCarrier Camera Harnesses

CottonCarrier Camera Systems sells a harness that mounts a camera on your chest via a nut that fits a tripod (I think I've got this right - I've never actually seen one). The camera can be released by rotating it sideways (See photos and videos at www.cottoncarrier.com. If it works, this harness would relieve the strain the strap of my heavy camera puts on my neck. Is anybody familiar with this harness who can critique it? Also, it ships from Canada. If anybody in the USA has purchased one, were you charged any kind of customs fee or duty to have it shipped? How much?

It looks interesting, but I'm not sure about having this and the camera strap around me, I think it might get a little messy and I'm not ready yet to stop using the strap!
But if you're not going to use the strap at all, looks like a useful idea.

I saw a friend using the Black Rapid double strap at le Mans he said it was great for action shots as it kept the cameras ready to just grab and shoot - plus the extra strap would limit the swing of the cameras so when he worked from back of a motorbike he didn't have to worry about cornering. Plus the weight load was on the harness, not shoulder straps, and there wasn't the worry about the cameras slipping off the shoulder.

I've found out that this harness now ships from Blaine, WA so there is no duty. But I haven't found anybody who uses one. Is anyone who fits this description out there?
