copying photos to a CD?

Hi everyone,
I have a question about copying your digital photos from your computer to a CD-R. I'm not that experienced in using a DSLR (just got my first one a few months ago:Canon Rebel XS). So, normally I don't have any problems with it, but today I was having difficulty transfering all of my photos to the disk. I transfered the photos to my computer, then I organized them into a labelled file, I clicked on the file and "Copy to CD" and usually it works, but today it didn't. It would only copy half of the photos from the file. So, eventually I did it one at a time (like, I clicked on each picture and then clicked "copy to CD" and that worked). I'm not sure if I did something wrong, or maybe there is an easier way to transfer photos to a CD? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use the CD creation software that came with my computer, Roxio Creator on the HP desktop, and Nero on the Sony laptop.

I use Photoshop Elements. It will copy a file to a CD. Alternatively, you should be able to drag-and-drop the whole file from your hard drive to the CD. If you cannot do this, then I am puzzled. HTH.

Since I'm now shooting in RAW, a DVD-R is more in speed for copying or backup of the photos, along with portable Hard Drives!

Software wise, I use the free burning software which came with the DVD burner (NERO) and it works very good.

Windows and Apple's burning utilities are pretty advanced now. I can't remember when I used Nero last. Or Toast.
