    Smile !!! Choosing a professional camera !!!

    Dear Professionals,

I am looking for a professional camera and have surfed online for that matter and i have realised that most sites offered cheaper prices than local stores!!

Now does someone know if there is a trick to this or whether they have relations or reliable methods to cut the prices to sell cheaper?

Are these sites usually reliable? Are these cameras brand new or defected products coming from the factories?

How about the warranty... if there is ever a problem is it problem free to return the camera and get it fixed?

Any help would be more than appreciated!

    Cheers

    Online Camera Dealers

You usually can get better prices online. That's because online dealers have less overhead and provide far less service. So if price is your only criteria, then online is the way to go. But if you'd like a dealer that will help you decide which camera is best for you and be there for you when you have questions or problems, then paying a little more to buy locally might be a better decision. I do a little of both.

Beware of shopping online for cameras or any electronics by price alone. There are many unscrupulous and even dishonest Web dealers. It's much better to shop by dealer reputation than by lowest price. The lowest price often has hidden costs and can even be a flatout rip-off. For more information on online dealers, check our Dealer Feedback Forum. It's no fluke that it gets more traffic than any other forum on this site.

You also need to read the fine print as some times the cameras are gray market camera's make for another market. Just remember you will have to pay customs it you purchase it out side of your home country. That may also change the cost picture.

If you have a sales tax and how many countries do, you will also have to pay that when you pay the customs. Also if you buy from outside your country, make sure the warranty is valid in your country, because very often they are only valid in the country the camera is sold in. Don't mean to discourage you, but there are lots of things the online folks won't tell you. HTH.

    Cheers,
