CF/SD card reader for laptop - express card

I'd like a card reader to go into the express card slot for my laptop.

Fast, reliable, and flush with the side of the computer so I can leave it in at all times. Also a plus if it only counts as one drive.

Suggestions? I've purchased too many external readers and internal desktop readers that either didn't work or fell apart.

It's gotta read high capacity SD and CF cards. (The SD reader built into my laptop broke so I need SD in addition to CF)

Right now I'm using a USB cable to my XTi and I have 3000+ JPGs on there (making a time lapse video)....and my computer doesn't like it when I have that many files on the camera :mad2:

Re: CF/SD card reader for laptop - express card

I scrapped my express card CF reader because it was much slower than the USB reader.
My cheap (I think it was 9.99) multi-reader is just fine.

I hope that all your photos are going into a subdirectory. As FAT 16 or FAT 32 do have a limit in the root of 512 entries! A subdirectory is a FILE and doesn't have any limits but for disk space. You may have to update your OS. Also some card readers will not like some large cards so test before you purchase.
