    CANON Rebel

My HS daughter was set to buy Canon digital SLR (RebelXSI 1855K) til she saw a negative review of an online dealer over the Japanese vs American version? Is this a common problem among Canon/dealers? Sorry for the naivite, but she's making a wholehearted investment into photography and this seems like a concern. Any ideas? Thank you!

    Re: CANON Rebel

The best advice I can give is to buy from a reputable dealer. If the price sounds too good to be true it is.

    Try out B&H or adorama.
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

If you are in the United States, look for "authorized dealer" on any sites you check.
This means you will get a camera with a full 'manufacturers warranty'.
If it says stuff like usa warranty, that does NOT mean its a manufacturers warranty and will be difficult to take advantage of.
Do check our camera dealers feedback as hollis suggested and also check here
http://www.resellerratings.com/ which is the only honest online store rating place I know of.
Good luck and do come back with any other questions.
This site is the friendliest on the web for photography.

You are all awesome. Thanks! And yes, buydig was something we were heading towards. I will follow each of these thoughts before acting.

I actually found this site by googling the username of someone who had a very bad experience with another dealer who was cheaper. But this IS an investment . . you all helped a LOT. Cheers, for now. Will have my daughter check this out too (if she hasn't found it already).
