    Canon lens

    I currently have a canon rebel t-1 slr with a 28-90mm lens.
I would like to know what would be another good lens to use with this camera.

    Thanks for all your help

    Re: Canon lens

I have a Canon Rebel Ti with that lens ... it came with the camera, right? You need to ask yourself what kind of shooting you want to do that you can't currently do. You can replace the lens you have with a better one, or you can expand your options to shoot in more varied circumstances. It's totally up to you.

I wanted to have more telephoto options, so I bought a 75-300 IS lens. But there are a lot of options out there, so you need to figure out how much you want to spend. A pro lens is best, but very expensive. My lens was middle-of-the-road, not the best, but it's just fine for me. I wish I had a 2.8 speed telephoto, but that cost more than I wanted to spend.

I would suggest you go to a good camera shop and just try a bunch of lenses on for size. You'll know when the right one is in your hands.

    Kelly,
Than you so much for the information. More telephoto is what I am after.
I will take your advice and head to the camera store and try a few out..

    Thanks again

    Re: Canon lens

Now that you know what focal lengths you're looking for, the next question is how much you want to spend. Just based on your camera, and buying your first lens, I'm going to guess that you don't want to spend $3000 on a new lens. I would look to the 70-200mm f4L, which is a great lens with the L quality, but is still relatively inexpensive. It's only $200 (Canadian) more than the 75-300mm IS at a local camera shop for me (it's $900 Canadian for me). I have a borrowed 75-300mm USM lens that annoys me because of it's slow focus speed (no full time manual focus), so make sure you try the lenses out before you put down the cash.
