    Canon 20D Lens?????

CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE!!!!! I'm in the market to buy a 20D Canon to take proffetional wedding pictures. Can anyone give me some advice as to which lens I should purchase? Would the 17-85mm wide angle lens be good? why or why not? Or should I go with a 18-55mm lens? why or why not? Or any other recomondations. I will be taking pictures inside and outside. If anyone can take the time to inform me I would so greatly appreciate it. Thanks Amber

    20D and PROFESSIONAL......

    NEITHER LENS ;)

    16-35L , 17-40L, 26-70L, 50MM .... SHARP PRO ZOOMS/ PRIMES.

the word PROFESSIONAL raises the bar on quality needs IMHO and lowlight/ shallow DOF are needs you will encounter

Apart from the fact that it doesn't have a very large aperture I love my 17-85. With the focal length set to 70mm on both that and my 70-200 F4L with exact same settings on both I could tell no difference at all in color or clarity even when zoomed in to 1600%. The 18-55 on the other hand is about as sharp as a cotton ball.

    WOW!!!!!

Being more the TELEPHOTO guy myself, I just figure the 17-85 (with it 5X zoom) would have to have some compromises that would not make it a good choice.

If what you say is true..... I take back the NEITHER . The 18-55 is (as you say) not a good enough lens for SELLING the images taken with it(IMHO)

    Re: Canon 20D Lens?????

I wish this question would have been posted just a couple days ago. I had both the original full sized images in a zip file on my website but just deleted them. I sent them off to a pro friend of mine and asked him to tell me which one was better. He couldn't see a difference either.

EDIT: It was still on my webserver's recycle bin: http://ww2.photogeeks.net:8080/paint.zip

They are specifically not labeled per camera so an blind unbiased opinion can be reached.
