    Canon 120 vs Sony W290

So I know these aren't really comparible cameras but I have pictures to compare both of them. Which would you say was better?

    Sony

    Canon

These are just two examples for you to eye. Your recomendation doesn't even have to be either of these cameras. I would like something with atleast a 5 times zoom like the 290, although 4 would be ok. With sony I would have to deal with the MS memory and my computer wont read the smaller Duo size.

Re: Canon 120 vs Sony W290

Both are good cameras and about the same Canon PowerShot SX120 IS compared to Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W290. The Sony has a wider lens but less zoom. It all depends on what you take photos of. The longer zoom of the Canon will beat the sony in sports photography but the wider lens of the Sony will be better for Landscape photography. The higher resolution of the Sony means you can crop to 10 mega pixel and have a 6x zoom range. The Sony does have a one stop advantage in ISO but you would have to see what the noise is from both cameras.

For me it's a wash - as either camera would do the job.
