Unhappy camera left in hot car

I bought a little damsung digimax s500 in june for my husband who left it in a hot, hot car for a day or two. Now it won't even turn on. Is it completely shot? Good only for a paper weight? Or can it be fixed? I'm very frustrated and my husband is no longer allowed to take camera anywhere. Thanks for any help.

There's a chance that it's gone but make sure the battery is charged first. Worth a try, anyway.

Hot car, any battery will discharge, the hoter the faster the discharge. Have you tried to turn it on with the power supply pluged in? If it doesn't turn on with the power supply pluged in to the camera and the AC recpticle it's time to get it fixed. It has to get very hot to damage the electronics, but batteries are different.
