Buying lens/filter package safe on ebay?

First of all, I have the Kodak z740. It's my 1st camera that I received this last Christmas, and I'm looking to buy a few add-ons. I'm looking for a polarizer and a wide angle lens. While searching on ebay, I came across this auction:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/LENS-FILTER-INCL...QQcmdZViewItem

This looks like a great buy as some of the lenses themselves cost about that much when going through kodak. However, that's also the reason I'm skeptical to buy from this dealer. (The dealer has a 99%+ feedback rating with over 40,000 sales) Has anyone had experience with this sort of thing? What advice can you give me?

Also, the diameter of the lens is 55mm (with the adapter). Is this a pretty standard diameter? If so, can I buy basically any standard 55mm filters/lenses?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

With statistics like that, I wouldn't be skeptical. As long as it is cheaper than a major retail store, I would do it.

Agreed! Be skeptical if there is all of the sudden/very recent negative feedback or the overall rating is liw 90's high 80's.

Did any of you by any chance check out the auction itself? I'd feel better if somebody with more experience with photography took a good look at it. Thanks for all your help!

The one thing in this ad that that caught my eye is that all the items are shown in a way that hides the brand name. This could be because often time discount sellers are not allowed by their suppliers to advertise the name if the prices are too far below MSRP. On the other hand, it could be because it is low quality, no-name junk. I can't say if one scenario is more likely than the other. The products don't look cheap or low quality, but there really isn't any way of knowing.
The ad gives me the impression of a responsible seller. Sometimes that means a good deal. Sometimes it means, "You get what you paid for."
Personally, I would rather pay extra to know exactly what I am getting.

55mm filters: I have a few very nice SLR lenses that use 55mm caps & filters. I don't think this size is as common as it once was, but the accessories are still being made.

Take a look at this recent thread. The lens in that thread wasn't bought on ebay but could be a similar situation. There's nothing wrong with ebay and I've bought and sold a lot of stuff that way - but every seller (and product) will be different.

I looked into them packages for my camera ... did some research on them and it seems that they are made by digital optics ... the research didn't come up too well .. as stated before you get what you pay for .... the equipment from kodak may be more expensive but a much better quality ... I ended up watching ebay and getting some great deals on some barely used equipment ... also maybe check out amazon for used equipment ...
