Hi there, this is my first post, so I guess I'd like to start off by saying thanks for being here...
Anyhow, I'll be going to Nicaragua in June for a few weeks, and I was just wondering if anyone's been there. If so, what are the conditions like? i.e. is it safe to take my SLR there, or just take a point-and-shoot? Also, what are the outdoor lighting conditions like? Does it get dark too soon or is it likely to rain, and if so, do you think I should invest in a larger flash unit? Maybe some polarized lenses? I'll be taking photos mostly outdoors in the evenings, and, unfortunately, I'll be indoors most of the day. I anticipate to do a lot of portrait-type photography, with an occasional landscape.
