    Another newbie question

    I should know how to do this by now... I'm a little embarrassed to ask... but here goes...

    How would I 'stop down' my aperture using my Canon 30D?

    I guess I'm embarassed to say that I can't answer your question... I'm a Nikon guy and the controls are different. I'm sure someone will be along shortly, or I'll move this thread to the Canon forum. Sheesh, some help forum moderator, eh?

    Use the DOF preview button.

    Copy_Kot, I'm glad you had the courage to ask your question.(BRAVO) This is a great forum! Probably one of the best I have been a part of. I don't think any one here would laugh at any question. Every question asked here helps tons of other people reading it.

    Click the camera on/off switch past the "on" position so it's on the setting with the "line".

    Use the big circular dial on the back to scroll through your fstops.

    Just as an FYI, you won't be able to see your apperture change when you stop down, unless you press the depth of field preview button.
