Tales of a Yashica-12

So last month I got my first 'real' TLR, unlike my qwirky Lubitel 2, this is a Yashica-12. When I first got my hands on it it worked fine, however when I got film loaded and out into the field, the shutter refused to open. So I had to take it in to get fixed, and I found a great place to do it in Hamilton. Well I got it back last week, here are the results!

I have no clue on the since filed of film, but that seems a hell of a good camera. The saturation and nice shadow/light smooth roll-off is indeed appealing.

I have to say the Yashica range of TLR's is amazing, especially the ones with the yashinon lenses. The detail, overall and in the shadows and highlights is first class. Frankly, there aren't many DSLR's that can match the image quality.

That TLR of yours is a keeper and a credit to its gendre.

I had a Yashica 12 TLR several years ago, and it was a great camera, not as handy as a 35mm, but it gave better images. It would appear that yours is in near new condition since you got the shutter problem fixed.
Some really nice shots, I especially like the colors in the church's stained glass windows. but they could have been shot from a greater distance, not having a zoom can be a pain. The sharpness of the lens is impressive, I had forgot about that advantage of the Yashica.

Thank you! Yes, it takes 120 film and puts out 6x6 exposures. They were produced between 1967 and 1968
