Shots from the 1D canon film body

It was neat to shoot with it, very hard not to look at the back of the body after a shot These were cropped a bit and unsharp masked in PSE5.

Looking good Jimmy. What were you using for film? How are you liking the camera so far?

Aaron I do like the camera so far! I used Fuji Superia 200 ISO on these. I might take a roll or so a month and see how it goes? I know I am loosing my job in the next couple of weeks so I won't have any extra coin too shoot film:-( I will do what I can to shoot some more when I find I can afford to do it.

Sorry to hear about your job Jim Hopefully you'll pick something else up no problem. I have some expired film if you want it. Not sure how good it is as I haven't shot any of it myself yet but, if you want it, shoot me a pm. I won't be using it anytime soon.

Those two shots are excellent, Jimmy. Colorful and crisp, the way I like it. Very sorry to hear about your job; racing is being hit very hard by all of this.

Love the first shot! If you hadn't said it was shot on film, I'd say it was definitely shot using digital.

    Keep on posting!

    Eh?

You mean the EOS-1 or EOS-1V, right? "D" is for digital

Way back when I was still shooting with a couple of Canon A1 bodies, I decided to rent a Canon EOS-1 and 300 f/2.8L to shoot World Super Bike at Laguna Seca. That experience forever ruined me for manual focus cameras. When the next camera swap rolled around I traded all my Canon manual focus gear for an EOS A2E and the kit lens. I've never looked back. I was still using that A2E on the day PhotographyREVIEW.com launched in July of 1999. And it wasn't until the original EOS-1D DSLR was introduced that I gave up my film gear. So the EOS-1 series has made a big impact on my life

I believe it is a 1V the body is scratched really bad in that area. My brother doesn't seem to want to remember, LOL. He said the other film body he kept was a little quicker.
Thanks for all the comments, Jimmy B

Oh come on John, you mean you don't miss manually tracking a missile-sized bike at 150mph? That's weak man, weak. ;)

When I first got my TLR, one of my friends who knows I'm big into racing said "I'd like to see you do some panning shots with that." And I don't think he even knew the viewfinder is reversed... needless to say, I haven't tried it and never plan to do so. For some things, it's just impossible to beat technology!
