    Samsung High Def film?

    Hi Folks,
While shopping at the 99 cents store I noticed they had Samsung Hi def film in 36 exposers. ISO 200...Never heard of it, but had to try a roll...
I must say that I find it very good...I shot it in many different conditions and did well...

Aaron, these where all with the Lens I bought from you

These images where shot at F/1.4 with shutter at 1/30 in dark conditions hand held.

    Converted to b&w in CS3

Shot through double pain glass in dark museum.
    F/1.4 @ 1/60

    Hey jgredline,

They look great! I never get tired of looking at film, it always captivates me in a way digital does not,

I also love the B&W conversions, they look really really good!

    Keep the photo's flowing!!!

    Thanks Danic.
Same here. I love looking at film images. I love shooting film as well. There is something very cool about hearing that mechanical shutter go click. I love the time it takes to set up a picture. I love the anticipation of getting back my film.

Looks good. It's probably not manufactured by Samsung, though. My guess is it's rebranded film with Samsung packaging. Not that it really matters. That is, unless you start searching for Samsung film. It's probably pretty hard to find and the .99 cent store probably bought a big lot of it for cheap.

    Re: Samsung High Def film?

Thanks John, I was doing a little research and many folks seem to believe it is 3M film re badged. None the less, I have searched all the local 99 cents stores around my area and all are out of this...Likely a one shot deal...

If interested, I heard a rumor that Pentax will be debuting a new camera...
Here is the quote of the ''rumor''
In addition to Rogers K20D thread I thought this was relevant as a separate thread.

From the Pentax site I pulled the exif for the 35mm DA Limited lens and sure enough it's 17MP.

Thus ahead of Photokina we can expect Pentax to be putting out a 17MP camera and thus trickling down the 14.5 to a cheaper DSLR with the 14.5MP CMOS.

Now will we see this camera/sensor at Photokina, or will it be some time before this sensor is ready to go. Seems too soon, but then we've been complaining there is no base model camera.

So perhaps the K200D is now the $400 base model, then a mid range CMOS (maybe K20D stays in production as that), and then a slightly higher model with the 17MP sensor.

Come on Pentaxian's, it's been at least a few weeks since I have seen a good "when are we getting new cameras" threads filled with rumors and innuendo. If we want to be more like Canon and Nikon (and Sony added for Lindy's benefit) we need to keep these threads alive. You will never go a day on those other forums without a thread like this!

So what are your thoughts on this new 17MP camera that would surpass in MP all but the 1Ds (just as the K20D did) and perhaps the 17MP actually might rival the 1Ds in lines of resolution (which is possible since the 10MP D200 had more lines than the 12MP 5D).

Looking good Javier Glad to see you're enjoying that lens. Been working a buttload of OT lately and am thinking about picking up a 1.4 myself for the Nikon. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more

Missed you and this place too. In addition to the pm's I sent you, our manager at the hotel left without notice and I'm the only one who can "step-up" so I've been working 70 hour weeks on top of it all. When it rains it pours right??? On a plus though, I got the go ahead from my room mate to set up a dark room in one of the spare rooms here. Hopefully life will settle down a bit soon and I can start getting back into the swing of things. Until then though, shoot a roll or two for me ;)
