    Latest purchase

Just picked up a 1954 Voigtlander Vito B for $50. It is a great little camera and is a real delight to use. Just loaded a film and it worked like new. You have to love that German engineering -certainly made to last. I wonder how many digital cameras will have the same lifespan.

Excellent looking little camera, Cameron. I looked at some of those before deciding to stick with 120 format for my film use. They're renown to be very tough cameras with superb optics even by modern standards. I'm sure you'll really enjoy it; share some results with us!

That is the first type of camera my Dad let me use. I have been trying to find one on ebay but keep getting out bid. I really wish I would have been able to get my Dad's when he passed away, I did end up with his 35mm camera he had at the time, although, I really want to get my hands on one.

I was so impressed with the workmanship that I was thinking of getting a couple of different model voigtlanders to start a small collection. But sanity prevailed and I have decided to get another MF lens instead. Just got a scanner so hope to start posting some results soon.

Not just the camera. My 1DmkII charger has died (good job I got another one with the 1DSmkII).
Without the battery and the charger and a memory card, your digital camera is useless. How long will all those things last?
