    I Can Has Kodachrome!

Yes, I have kodachrome, 4 rolls of the ISO-64 stuff, I'm actually really excited to use it!

3 rolls are in 35mm format, the other one is in 120 format.

Congrats. I have to check my freezer to see what I have left. I'm heading to the Tetons next week and want to use up my KM on some fall colors.

Will look forward to seeing the results! I have not shot fall foliage with Kodachrome since, since, well, the last century.

My local camera shop has 30 tubes of this for relatively cheap. Is it worth getting? I was told kodak won't be sending out development chemicals starting at the end of this year & to get the film developed, I'd have to go through kodak... has anyone heard the same or is this real old news?

As far as I know Kodak doesn't even develop Kodachrome any more. I think Dwayne's Photo out of KS is the only place left in the US (maybe world) that still develops Kodachrome. According to their website they plan to develop it through next year as long as supplies last.

Interesting, I'm thinking about picking up a tube. Would be nice to have a collection of "antique" photos.

    Re: I Can Has Kodachrome!

Kodak announced the end of Kodachrome production on 22 June 2009. The only lab still processing it and approved by Kodak is Dwayne's. This service is expected to end in 2010

In other words if you buy some Kodachrome or you have some in the freezer then better get on with using it because the end is near.

There's nothing antique about Kodachrome except

    1. The film speed - 25 ISO, 64 ISO and maximum 200 ISO
    2. The processing which is very complex

Not buying any more gear this year. I hope
