Hi Robusto, It is good to see another OM user here. Great cameras in their day. I recently bought an OM4 - fantastic camera, still takes magnificent pics. Looking forward to seeing some of your shots.

Interesting, my Brownie only gets 8 on the 127 roll, the negatives are larger.
I'll shoot one of the colour films over the next few days, assuming we get enough sun!

Re: Going to have some fun

My camera is the elliptical bakelite brownie 127, almost like that illustration but without the cross-hatching on the front plate.

The films are marked up for both 12 and 8 exposures.
Depending on where the red window in the back of the camera is, you see the different numbers telling you to stop winding.

The manual that is linked from your photo says "when you have taken eight pictures" which is exactly what I expect.

Thinking on that, I may not be able to use the colour film without some camera modification. That red window will let in light that will probably fog the colour film.
I need to do some research on adding a "clicker" to the camera and then cover the window with gaffer tape.

It depends on the seal of the backing paper to the edges of the film guide, and the colour sensitivity of the film. I think the manual that refers to colour film maybe for less sensitive emulsions than the ISO 200 that we have.
I'll try one and see, will let you know what I get !

Re: Going to have some fun

Got back my shots from the Brownie 127 today and yes its only 8 :-) in B & W

am quite impressed with the actual camera for its age shots i took were fairly basic

I also got back the shots from the Bencini Comet This time 9 shots ? this time in colour why does the film roll go to 12???
looks like the last 3 others didnt take very well from what i can see on the negative maybe from light getting in towards the end of the film

Also got back some shots off the old 620 roll B & W contained 6 shots looks like from the 60s in the Alps somewhere one of them you can see the lady holding the camera case of the Duaflex i will scan then and post them soon as i can
The negatives from this are large and looks like a few did not develop

Re: Going to have some fun

The film can be exposed in different size negatives.
If you were marketing it, wouldn't you use the biggest number?

The Comet IIS gets 16 frames sized 32 x 40mm.
Comet II is 4x4cm, so will be less frames.
    Comet III 3x4cm
    Comet S 3x4cm

That's all I got in googling so far.
