    Question F-Stop Help!

I'm doing my first B&W SLR photography project. It's for night photography. I want to use a high & low shutter speed, and then adjust the F-stop. Any ideas of where I should set the f-stop. That's the main issue I have. I know high is 2000+ and the low is bulb to a few seconds open.

I take it you are using a film SLR? If so, you will find the aperture (f stop) adjustment on the lens itself. It will be a rotating ring on the lens near where it joins the camera body. Look for aperture values like 2.8, 5.6, 8.0 and so on, and you will have the right ring. You just rotate it to the mark (normally facing directly upwards)

    Hi Alice, welcome to PR

I'm not sure what you are doing for night photography but, you would be hard pressed to be able to shoot anything at 1/2000s at night. What exactly is the project you are working on? Your f-stop setting will depend a lot on the subject you are shooting and the desired depth of field. If you could provide us with some more details, we would be happy to help you out however possible. I look forward to hearing more
