Developing different films at same time

The last time I developed film I developed a roll of TMax 100 and Ilford 125 in the same tank at the same time. I was wondering is this a no no, or is it ok to do this? Everything worked out ok, but will I lose any quality with either negatives doing this? The developing times were only 30 sec apart so I just split the difference.

Greg, was that the Ilford I sent you? If it was, that was Delta 100 which is the Ilford equivalent of TMAX 100. Having done a bit with each separately, I can't imagine you would see a noticeable difference doing those 2 together.

No Aaron I think it was Ilford 125. The times were only seconds apart. I was worried about chemical reactions of seperate films. Also if there was a combination that I need to aviod. I wasn't really worried so much with the negatives not coming out as much as one degrading the quality of the other, even slightly, if that makes since?

You can mix different films together...I used to do it all the time. I used to mix Tr-X 400 with Neopan 400, and did like to did, simply split the difference. Or I would put the one that needed a little longer on the bottom.

I agree. The only thing you need to worry about is the times. If they're close enough for your liking, then you're good. No chemical reactions to worry about.
