    A couple of new toys

If you have seen me posting more film shots lately, it's because I have got my hands on a couple of new toys. A Leica M6 and IIIa. Both a true joy to shot. The IIIa dates to 1935 and is smooth as butter. Quieter than my Bessa R.

Well, if you're going to cheat on Olympus, there's no better way to go...LOL So what's the verdict, is the hype/myth/legend of Leica all it's cracked up to be? Congrats on the new toys Greg!!!

I am afraid the myth is the truth. There is certainly something about using one. I am suprised at the weight of the M6. It's very heavy. At least I know how a cloth shutter works now. I always wondered that one.

That IIIa is a work of art.

Very nice new toys you got there. I've been checking ebay and RFF classifieds for an M6 even though I have no money to buy one. I'm thinking the longer RF base length, additional frame lines, and quiet cloth shutter might be worth while improvements over my R2A. One day...

    Leica M6?
    NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted one of those badly! I guess I still do, but very happy with my R2A.
What did you do win a lottery or something? Or better yet, did you sell that Olympus?
I can't wait to see what you come up Gary.

Re: A couple of new toys

Thanks everyone. I still have the trusty Olympus. I have already posted a couple of shots in critiques and in my gallery with the toys. The Coin Laundry shot, if you remember was with the IIIa....The serial number dates it to 1935 and it is one smooth camera.
