    Can you still get?

    I have got another old camera seems all my mates are digging them out from there parents or grandparents lofts its a Brownie again but says takes 620 film

    Is 620 film still available ? as i cannot seem to find it all i have found is that 120 film fits on the same spool and that you can respool the 120 onto the 620 spool in the dark and it will work

    http://www.brownie-camera.com/respool/respool.shtml

    anyone help, not sure i want to try to respool thanks

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/120_film

    The 620 format was introduced by Kodak in 1931 as an intended alternative to 120. Although mostly used by Kodak cameras, it became very popular. The 620 format is essentially the same film on a thinner and narrower all-metal spool (the 120 spool core was made of wood at that time):

    * 120 2.466" width, 0.990" flange, 0.468" core
    * 620 2.468" width, 0.905" flange, 0.280" core

    Paul

    i got all that so if im going to try out the camera its going to have to be a respooled 120 film i suppose

    as i saw this as well The 620 format was discontinued by Kodak in 1995, i wonder if anyone still has some roll knocking around

    I've bought 620 from B&H, but it's re-spooled 120. You can saved yourself the $$ by respooling it yourself, IMHO.

    Re: Can you still get?

    I shot a few rolls of 620 a couple years ago. Like Megan, I respooled 120 film onto 620 spools.

    Re: Can you still get?

    In order to respool it, you're going to want to completely unspool the film from the 120 spool, and then start over on the 620 spool. When you get towards the end, you will have to separate the backing from the film, then reattach it once they even out again do to the difference in the spool size.. Not a big problem, but something to be aware of.
