best print film for deep contrasty colour

can anyone suggest a print film that (almost) mimics the deep contrast and vibrant colours of slide film. For general daytime, outdoors shooting

    cheers

Does Ultra Color 100 still exist? I thought it was replaced by Ektar 100, but I don't know.

Ultra Color 100 is good and so is Reala 100.

I haven't tried Ektar 100 yet, but the samples I've seen look very good.

I have always thought that Kodak looked a little desaturated so I think you should go for the Reala. But The Ektar really looks good from what I have seen, I have some Ektar but have yet to have it developed.

Consider Kodak Portra-400VC for this kind of work. The 400 speed will give you greater flexibility over a wider range of daytime conditions - clouds, overcast, shade, etc.

This film produces vivid but fairly accurate colors, better for people than some films as that is one thing it is built for, and high contrast with fine grain.

Do not confuse this with the other VC (vivid color) Kodak products as the lower ISO products are not as contrasty.

Find a Kodak Pro-lab to process it for the best results in the Portra Channel technology.

I second the Portra VC. Either 400 or 160, depending on your subject and conditions.

I have not shot film is a long time but the two that i liked in the past are:
    Fuji Reala
    Kodak Ektar
You can also try the VC (Vibrant Color) of the Kodak portra line as well.
