Ok, I just got off the phone with both the Wal-mart stores. They both said yes, their lab can do 120 E-6 film, and it is a 2 week turn around time. The price they quoted was $3.88. I should have asked them if they develop it with the dip & dunk method. I think I'll call them back and ask. Maybe I can get their heads to explode.

This is almost turning into a game for me. I called them back and asked them about the dip & dunk method. No shock to me that the woman had no clue what I was talking about. She did call the Fuji lab and called me back and left a message saying that they do NOT use the dip & dunk method, they have a lab they use. Now I wasn't sure if she ment a mini-lab, or an actual lab they farm the film out to. So I called back again. (Slow day at work for me). I was told that they do not send the film to another lab, and that they do it all there.

The did a nice job on my 35mm slide film, so I think I will give them a shot on the 120.

Yeah, I going to drop off my roll of 120 this afternoon. The is nothing important on the film that I couldn't reshoot without much effort. I'll let you know what it looks like when I get it back in a couple of weeks.

I picked up my roll of 120 Velvia 50 from Walmart today. The price was $4.88. That's $1 more than they quoted me, but still pretty cheap. The film looks pretty good. There are a few images that are a little darker than I would have liked to see them, but that is an exposure issue, not a development issue. The film came back uncut, and rolled up in a plastic sleeve. The roll was then put inside a small cardboard tube to protect it.

I'll try to get some scans tomorrow after work.

I was warned about parallax error with a TLR, but I wasn't expecting it to be this bad. I really took my time, and checked all the corners and edges of my frame to make sure I didn't have anything in the frame that I didn't want. After developing my first roll of B&W film from the Yashica last night, and now getting the chromes back, I realize just how bad the PE can be... Lots of shots with crap along the edges that weren't in the frame when I composed the image. All part of the learning experience.

I'm surprised to hear that you found the parallax that bad. I didn't think it was too bad with the Yashica. Were you shooting a lot of close up shots?

I had some trouble with parallax error when using my Yashica. Also, if I remember correctly, the viewfinder does not cover 100%. That might be contributing to unwanted things protruding from the edges. Sometimes I would raise my tripod center column by the distance between the lenses after I composed the shot, and that seemed to help. I think Rollei makes a little adapter gadget that does that for you, but they're hard to find.

That would make more sense I think. I noticed it shooting a small water fall, only about 3-5 feet away.
