Video unreadable by Digital Video Camera...

I have a digital video camera (taiwan-made) that can only read pitures or video taken from it. If I copy pics/vid taken from another older dv cam(JVC) on the new DV cam's SD Card, they are "physically" there when viewed from the PC but are unseen by the DV's viewfinder/menu.

Is there anyway i can "edit" the attribs/properties of these old pics/vids to make them readable and viewable on this new DV cam?

lots of ways. what is the format and resolution etc of the old cameras files and what is the format / resolution of the new cameras files? once you know this you can start converting them, but if you can copy them to your pc and view them from there why would you need to view them in the camera? wouldn't it be better to burn them from the pc to a dvd?
