I -ve had the camcorder for the last 2 yrs but now it has started giving me a problem ... I cannot play the casettes on the camcorder .. I mean that when i press record, it records but when I go to the VCR option and plany the casette it does not play ... it used to play all the casettes before and I also tried playing previous casettes but the outcome was no different ..
I mean can someone help me ?

Time for a trip to the nearest Sony authorized repair station. Have you tried using the remote control to see if just the touch screen is not working in playback mode? Either way, I would suggest having the camera looked at. Good luck.

Unfortunately, repair seems to be the way to go.

My advice unfortunetly, is to start shopping for a replacement camera. Sony's flat rate to repair your camera if it is out of warranty is $269.

My camera, a DCR TRV-19 just stopped working last week. The cost to repair it is almost that of a replacement camera. There is a class action suit against Sony being put together though, so there is hope, although your problem is different from the one most are having.
