Quality - HDD or Mini-DV Tape Digital Camera?

I'm planning on buying Sony digital camera, primarily for recording videos that be will be used in an exibition. And, after being projected on the wall, the diagonal of the video will be around 7 meters. So, I'm wondering whether I can acheive better quality with HDD camera or the one that contain Mini-DV tape. I'm quite aware that all depends on the model, but is there any advantage in general?

Can these cameras make videos look decent once they're projected (having such big proportions) in the first place?

nope. As a general rule, the high end video cameras will use mini-dv, but on consumer models it all comes out in the wash. Go for the one that is more convenient and practical for you.

I can only second the posts above. If you want to know more about why mini dv is generally superior have a read of the mini dv vs dvd thread.

I am in the market for a new camcorder. I currently have a mini dv, the only drawback is size and having to clean the heads, and who knows if u get stuck with a defective tape.
I found out the hard way, even though I didn't use my camcorder that much, I never cleaned the heads. Unfortunately that led to my holiday pics ruined, oh well I guess you live and learn.
