Panasonic DMC TZ3 - movie format

Hi. I am thinking of buying a Panasonic DMC TZ3 - but wanted to check what file format the movie audio is....... sounding too technical for myself here! Our present canon digital camera plays the audio in MPEG -1 muxed format (whatever that means) - which to us means that the sound doesn't transfer on our mac iMovie application. Can anyone advise? Thanks. Gill

Any reason you don't want to get a real video camera to record the video? You'll be much happier with the record quality and length. As far as the still camera you asked about, it records MPEGS in quicktime, it doesn't say what type of audio format.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. We do usually use our normal video camera, but just for those more unexpected capture moments we're more likely to grab a normal camera!
