Need help on selecting a proper shoulder rest for my Sony DSR PD-170.

Hi,
I posted here some months ago and everyone who responded were really helpful.
As for my current circumstances, i am seeking advise again.

I currently own a Sony DSR PD-170. An excellent Digital Video camera put aside, it's very inconvenient when it comes to holding it (especially for long periods of time.) My dad and i are on the verge of starting our Videography business. We are nearing the end of our studies in the camera equipment and the computer software that we purchased, so in turn, we are very strapped for time.

If anyone could suggest a proper shoulder rest or something of that type (it doesn't have to be a shoulder rest at all,) i would be most thankful. Any response will be most appreciated and valued. The camera is very inconvenient to carry and in turn, a solution is very much desired.

A tripod with a decent fluid head would be my first suggestion. Try the Bogen/Manfrotto line with at least the 501 head, legs are up to you. A decent rest/stabilizer out there is the Steadicam Jr. They are marketed through Tiffen corp, Check out B&H Photo/Video for pricing on both.

As usual MJS you read my mind, i was going to suggest that you buy a steadycam jr if you can afford one. Manfrotto (the finally stopped having another name in the US) are the leader in Video Tripods but Miller and Velbon make some very nice ones as well, A good fluid head is essential and get one bigger than what you think you will need. I think sony sell a shoulder brace for that camera, and i am sure manfrotto make an adapter that works quite well, and i am not sure who makes it but i have seen a device that clips onto your belt and over your shoulder that works well.
