I am not sure what you are after? are you looking to re create the film look from your video camera? in terms of your second question, are you asking what format is the best to use? this really comes down to budget. most cinema productions are shot on 35mm film. some high budget or art house films such as The Titanic and Baraka were shot on 70mm film. most low budget films are shot on 16mm film as it is cheaper, and in the event of a commercial cinema release can be duped to 35mm without to much loss of quality.

 you do not grasp the concept and are asking the wrong question. try shooting on the 24p setting. ntsc video is 30 frames per second. ntsc analog video is 30 frames per second interlaced. many digital video cameras can shoot in 30 frames per second using interlaced or progressive. film uses 24 frames per second and cannon hv20 and hg10 shoot in an emulated 24 frames per second. not all nle software supports this feature. vegas pro 7 and above do support this. reviews of the hg10 show poor results with motion in 24p. my hv20 works well in 24p. $50 please.
