    HDD poor quality

    Hey guys,

Is it just me or id HDD cameras poor quality compared to DV.

U use final cut HD and I movie HD, My old DV camera was stolen so i went and purchased a new HDD sony... amazing camera but it didnt work with my mac. Swaped it for a JVC even worse quality but does work with my mac.

Now is it worth taking it back and going back to DV just for the quality or am I being to fussy.

Im pretty sure my old DV camera which at the time cost les the the 2 HDD I have tried is still better quality.

    Advice please.

    Re: HDD poor quality

video cameras that use a dvd or hard drive save the video in a compressed format to preserve space. this is where you have problems with quality, especially when lading the video into an editing application. At the moment mini dv is the prefered format for quality without stepping up into the broadcast formats.
