Free Editing Software?

Looking for free video editing software, pretty much the only thing I'm looking for is that it will play nicely with WMVs or AVIs and that it gives the ability to crop video.

Any ideas?

I've tried jahshaka but it doesnt work, just crashes.

Haven't really been looking for any free stuff, although apple has Imovie or whatever itis, and Windows has the latest incarnation of Movie Maker. I don't believe that you can crop in Movie maker though.

Yeah I use Windows movie maker, and the only macs I can afford are the Macintosh classics at thrift stores...
