basically yes they can and no the quality is not very good, there are exceptions although they tend to be more expensive.

    HI THERE.

    check this thread out

my comments are there, but cant offer any help with any good digi video camera with great quality photo capabilities, i dont know of any at all, but if u can accept reasonable quality at 4.0mp then get yourself the panasonic NV-GS400 (in aust) or the PV-GS400 (for usa readers)
these are brilliant pro-sumer 3ccd digital video cams and beat the pants out of any equivelant spec'd sony and canon cameras, both in quality and price.

    hope i have helped.....GLEN

Is it just me, or have we been seeing a lot of the same questions? Hey Skyman, how was the European trip? Looks like we both missed the bombings.

Yes I think this is becuase we get a large number of one time only posters, who don't bother to explore the earlier posts.

The European trip wasn't long enough but it was good. I held back considerably and hardly filled up a tape of video and only slightly over a gig of stills. I want to go back and spend more time, especially with the people of Laubenheim (Germany). there generosity was greater than the quality of their wine!!!
