    360 degree rotate camera

    Hi all!

I am new to the photography/camera scene.

Anyway, I am wondering if it is possible for only 1 person to give a speech in front of only 1 video camera, and that the individual must be able to walk in a complete circle around the circle's center point/video camera, and no matter where they are on the circle, the video camera follows them.

I think that "motion tracking" is necessary, but is there a standard method/equipment for someone to acomplish that task?

    thanks for any info.

Welcome to the site, jimmiej. I think you'll have a better chance of getting an answer to your question in the Digital Video Forum, so I moved your thread here...

the normal way this would be done would be to have a camera operator then your problem becomes non existent as they can fairly easily track the movements of the speaker. In theory an automated systyem is possible but it would pose its own inherent problems. first a motor would be required to move the camera and this introduces unwanted noise and camera shake, then there is the computer software and processing power required to interpret which direction, speed etc. the presenter is moving and track them appropriately. (if such a technology exists my guess would be it would be expensive to the point of making having a camera operator a viable option) i have seen self controlled installations for video conferencing, but their is still someone using a joystick to control the camera (although the speaker could with practise do this themselves)
