The shots I've seen that I know are from the sigma seem rather distorted and lacking sharpness to me and I'm glad I got the Tokina 12-24.
I haven't seen an objective comparison though,(both lenses, same subject).
My Tokina isn't quite as wide but I love the sharpness and color and seeing little distortion if any.
